Isn't it funny how things work out?
I walked past someone today saying this all too familiar phrase and it got me thinking…
How many times have we heard this and how many times have we said this to ourselves?
So much stress in our lives and business can be attributed to worry and concern about what the future may bring. Wasted worry perhaps? Worrying certainly doesn’t achieve anything and only serves to create a negative influence that can be damaging to our health, our team morale and ultimately, our bottom line. Worry also crowds our brain with damaging and incessant thoughts that prevent us from thinking clearly about anything.
It is funny how things work out, but they always do. Maybe if we cut out the worry and stress and just intuitively understood that everything will work out eventually then we would save ourselves from making the situation worse.
It never ceases to amaze me how we can influence our surroundings by what we think. Have you ever had the experience that you have never noticed a particular make or colour of car, however once you are aware of it, or are considering buying it, you see it everywhere? Our brains have the ability to tune out unnecessary noise and focus on what is important.
I have proven this theory many times over, both professionally and personally. As a child and as a young adult I was told that I viewed life through rose-coloured glasses. My answer was always “what’s wrong with that?”. I remember trying to be more skeptical and critical but kept lapsing back into my old ways of just trusting the universe. As an older adult and looking back, I can say with conviction that the times I’ve donned the rose-coloured glasses have been the easiest, most enjoyable and most rewarding of my life. Let me clarify that rose-coloured does not mean reckless! As always, it is important to be strategic and considered in any business venture. Saying that, by eliminating needless mind-chatter, focusing on what is important and finding the positive side of each situation, much more can be achieved and in a much more enjoyable way! It is as though your mind is clear to find a solution that propels you forward on an inspired road. What is you mind-chatter telling you? If you aren’t comfortable with your findings can you change your internal dialogue to say something else?
Things do just work out – when we take away fear, worry and panic. Trust the universe, control your mind-chatter and if by chance things don’t work out then there are always new doors around, it is just up to us to open them!
